Dr. William Horsfall and Friend |
Description |
Two men sitting on the covered porch of a plain wooden building with the door open. The envelope identifies one as Dr. Horsfall, but not which one. The other man is not identified. The man on the left is wearing all dark clothing. The man on the right is wearing a light colored, long sleeved shirt and dark vest and trousers. Both have mustaches. In front of the man on the right is an upside down wooden box containing unidentified items. On the side of the box is printed: "SIOUX/GLOSS/STARCH." To the left of the man on the left is a square wooden box with a metal loop handle on the visible side. On top of the box is a lantern. There are 2 two-toned dark and white dogs at the feet of the man on the left. Hanging from the right side of the roof are five fish. Beside each man is a rifle leaning against the wall and there is a rifle across the thighs of the man on the right. Hanging on the wall to the left of the door are a white cloth, a metal cup, and a cartridge belt. To the right of the building can be seen a grassy field with fence posts and a hill with trees beyond. |
