A photo of the first football team of Marshfield Schools, 1904. Twelve players plus coach, sit or stand against a studio backdrop. Two pennants: MHS and HS. Some wear uniforms; one holds football. This includes boys at Jr. high level and high school freshman and sophomores. There was only two year at high schools at that time. First row left to right: Bill Kronholm, Bill Lindgrin, Frank Matson, ((?) eye), Iris Elrod, Guy Nichols. Second row: Osgood Shoure, Alfred Matson, John Brown, Sid Burnett (for whom American Legion post is named). Third row: Jay B. Tower - coach, Ben Chandler, Vic Dimmich and Harry Walker. |
