To the left of the photo are two ships that are docked next to the town and have their starboard side facing the camera. The ship to the left is a four masted barkentine, and the boat to the right is a three masted schooner. Further down from these boats are a few buildings at the base of a small wooded incline. To the right of the photo is a lumber mill. There are wooden pilings extending to the right of the photo that lead up to the log ramp of the main building of the mill, which has smoke coming out of it. The building to the right of this one has three smokestacks, all of which are issuing smoke. To the left of the mill is a smaller warehouse, and to the right of the mill are four houses. Behind these houses, up on a small wooded hill, is smoke that is billowing into the air. The foreground is comprised of calm water. |
